How to end a conversation politely in Indonesian?
Here I will write a conversation between Mr. Lintang, John, and Rebo. Then Rebo cut the conversation off to end it because they had to going to Kawah Ijen. I will use five phrases you can use to end a conversation politely in Indonesian. 

Five phrases.
  1. It was nice chatting with you.
  2. Well, it’s getting late.
  3. Anyway, I should get going.
  4. (formal) Sorry, but I’m afraid I need to…
  5. I’m sorry to cut you off, but I actually gotta run.

A conversation between Mr. Lintang, John, and Rebo.

John and Rebo was touring to Pasir Putih beach in Probolinggo - East Java - Indonesia and having a conversation with the local people there. The name of that local person is Mr. Lintang. (Mr. Lintang in Indonesian is Bapak. Lintang).

Mr. Lintang welcomed John and Rebo when they came to his tavern, "hi...! Welcome to my tavern. Please come in." John and Rebo answered together, "thank you, sir."

John: Make us two coffee, sir. (In Indonesia, you can use this sentence to order a food or drink at a tavern or restaurant).
Mr. Lintang: Two coffee? Yes, wait a moment, please. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Lintang made the coffee. John and Rebo chatted until Mr. Lintang had finished to make their coffee.

Mr. Lintang: These, your two coffee. Have a wonderful drink.
John and Rebo: Thank you, sir.
John: Who is your name, sir?
Mr. Lintang: Lintang. My name is Lintang.
Rebo: Nice name, sir. Lintang meaning is star. That is a Javanese language.
John: Oh... I see..! That's a splendid name, sir.
Mr. Lintang: Thank you.
John: My name is John, and this is my buddy, his name is Rebo.
Mr. Rebo: Nice to meet you, John. Nice to meet you, Rebo.
Rebo: Thank you, sir.
John: Do you live here, Mr. Lintang?
Mr. Lintang: Yes, I was born here. This tavern belongs to my wife. She is going to the market.
John: Mr. Lintang. Do you know what is the nice place here?
Mr. Lintang: Yes, but you will see it when in the night is coming.

And then Mr. Lintang told stories that when in the night he often went to the sea ride a traditional canoe to see the stars. He went to a small coral island to the north of Pasir Putih beach and stayed there to see the stars in the night sky. Mr. Lintang said that when he was there, he felt as if being inside of an enormous tube bottle of the stars. 

John and Rebo listened with pleasure and amazed by the place. They said that he could imagine how beautiful the place was. Blaa... Blaa... Blaa... John enjoyed the conversation with Mr. Lintang until Rebo reminded him it was time to go to Kawah Ijen. 

Rebo: I’m sorry to cut you off, but we actually gotta run to go to Kawah Ijen.

John just realized that it was already afternoon.

John: Well, it’s getting late. Anyway, we should get going. It was nice chatting with you, Mr. Lintang.
Mr. Lintang: Don't you want to go to the place I told to you?
Rebo: Sorry, but I’m afraid I need to go now because we have already booked a hotel room.
John: Rebo, I thought, after coming from Kawah Ijen, we can come back here and stay for one night. I want to see the stars. What is your opinion?
Mr. Lintang: Sure you must. You will know later when you see it by yourself.
Rebo: I am okay. I agree with you, John.
John: Great! We will meet again, Mr. Lintang. Once again, it was nice chatting with you.
Mr. Lintang: Me too. It was nice chatting with you, John.
John and Rebo: Okay, See you soon, Mr. Lintang.
Mr. Lintang: Sure, see you later, guys.

John and Rebo leaved after paying for the coffee.

Rebo: Nice name, sir. Lintang meaning is star. That is a Javanese language.
Rebo: Nama yang bagus, pak. Arti Lintang adalah bintang. Itu adalah bahasa Jawa.

John: Oh... I see..! That's a splendid name, sir.
John: Oh... Begitu...! Itu nama yang bagus sekali, pak.

Mr. Lintang: Thank you.

Mr. Lintang: Me too. It was nice chatting with you, John.
Mr. Lintang: Saya juga. Senang mengobrol dengan Anda, John.

John and Rebo: Okay, See you soon, Mr. Lintang.
John and Rebo: Oke, sampai ketemu lagi, Pak Lintang.

Mr. Lintang: Sure, see you later, guys.
Mr. Lintang: Tentu, sampai jumpa lagi, teman-teman.

John and Rebo leaved after paying for the coffee.
