Visiting Indonesia and doing the best thing for several days or weeks or months by giving voluntary donation to stay at our guest house or farm house. Only paying for food for IDR 10000 for healthy foods and IDR 15000 with meat addition. Taken directly from our vegetable farm.

My name is Marcus and I am from England. My time in Wonosari with Santosa & Kusuma is coming to an end, and i leave on monday. I have been here for a week now, and i have loved the experience! I came here not sure what to expect, and i am very lucky to have been hosted by Santosa and Kusuma, who are so friendly and welcoming, which made it easy for me to settle in very quickly. They have cooked delicious food for me every day, and being vegan i realise this must be awkward for them at times, but they have done everything they can to accommodate me and welcome me into their home. I achieved my goals of finding soursop and an indonesian flag, and amazingly, i even managed to find a cacao tree, and after Santosa spoke to the owner, she gave me one for free! I couldn't believe it and have been showing all my friends at home, this is very rare for me and never would have happened if i didn't come here!
I think that other travellers should DEFINITELY come to Wonosari and experience what i have experienced. It's very rare to find parts of Asia that are untouched by the western world, but not only that - to live in those areas with friendly locals that will show you everything in the local area, introduce you to local people and really give you the true experience of their culture and local community! I didn't expect to be doing this myself, but have always said that this is something i want to experience, and i'm so glad that i have. I will never forget my time here, and i am sure i will be back on my next visit to Indonesia to see my friends! Lastly, i'd just encourage anyone - and i have met lots of people that are sick of visiting parts of Asia that are so westernised you could be at home - that wants to experience true Asia, to come and see the beauty of the local area, the forests, the waterfalls, the exotic fruit trees, the friendly locals and all with a guided tour with a knowledgeable local!
